more ‘what if’

I was thinking about what Teryn said earlier…we seem to take such a dim view of life as his followers.

In a way I think the gospel has been poorly marketed, when the emphasis on much of what we are taught is based in fear and condemnation..don’t touch/don’t sin.., .or else.

And so little evidence of the love which he commanded us to do.

We ought to count the cost, to be sure.  Anytime we do righteousness..when we stand up for someones human rights, for example, chances are we are pissing off someone who was abusing those rights .

He wasn’t popular with everyone, or successful by the worlds standards, and neither will his followers be.

But to someone who is hungry, oppressed, sick, suffering, dying, imprisoned, abused, neglected, unloved…you are light and warmth and mercy and  hope and healing and love.

You might be someone’s only hope.
